Problems – MultiplyMe

Most fundraising platforms are designed for larger clients, but small, locally-based nonprofits face a lot of issues that medium and large sized nonprofits don’t deal with. MultiplyMe was designed to deal with some of those issues

  • Less manpower: smaller nonprofits rarely have a full-time paid employee in charge of the time-consuming task of fundraising.
  • Less expertize: Without a dedicated fundraising person, the many tasks involved often cycle through multiple employees or volunteers, knowlege about successful techniques and tools isn’t passed along.
  • No reputation: most of the donations to small nonprofits come directly from people directly involved in the organization, either as volunteers or benificiaries. Outside of this immediate circle, few people are aware of what small non-profits are in need of funding.
  • Cronic, not urgent: Often small grassroots and community-based nonprofits are addressing systemic or cronic problems, while most donations are made to nonprofits that deal with disasters, immediately after a disaster hits. Without the feeling of urgency that a disaster creates, potencal donors never get around to writing that check.
  • Light web presense: Without a dedicated outreach person, there are fewer outlets for
  • Older donor base:

Our Model was designed to systemize fundraising best-pracices and to solve the above problems all within the same tool. MultiplyMe integrated a user-driven referal system, which was gamified to maximize the number of referals. Users who took the challenge needed to successfully refer three friends within three days in order to complete the challenge and successfully donate their pledges. The time limit creates a sense of urgency for both the referer and the referee. The system was designed so that anyone affiliated with a nonprofit could easily set up a fundraising campaign, which includes all the legwork of sending referal emails, maintaining a social media presense, creating a sense of urgency and a pipeline for those affiliated with the nonprofit to refer untapped potencial donors.
